Leadership & Role
Senator Cyr serves as Assistant Majority Whip in the 194th General Court (2025β2026). He was first elected in 2016 and represents the Cape and Islands District, which includes all of Cape Cod (Barnstable County), Martha’s Vineyard (Dukes County), and Nantucket.
His legislative focus areas include housing affordability, public health, mental health and substance use, coastal resilience, and clean energy. He has been a leading voice on seasonal community housing issues and environmental protections for the Cape and Islands.
